Partnership combines image management with high-throughput whole slide image scanning to realize the full promise of digital pathology
Corista, a leader in digital pathology image management solutions, and Pramana, Inc., an AI-enabled health tech company modernizing the pathology sector, have developed a partnership to accelerate the adoption of fully automated, high-volume digital pathology workflows for research and clinical laboratories. Together, Corista and Pramana are building a pathology-specific blueprint for clinical consult programs, global research networks, tissue archiving and data lake assembly.
Corista’s clinical, research and education image management system, DP3®, is designed to meet the needs of large-scale pathology laboratories. The image management system is DICOM-compliant, enables voice collaboration, remote case review, global consults, and integrated image analysis, and includes a proprietary LIS Connector.
Pramana’s unique whole slide image scanning capabilities, combined with Corista’s DP3, will dramatically expand the operations of large volume labs looking to optimize their use of anatomic pathology data.
“We are impressed with the capabilities that Pramana has been able to build and deliver to the market in rapid fashion,” said Corista CEO and Co-founder Liz Wingard. “This collaboration will allow our companies to focus on areas of the market that have been underserved with existing whole slide imaging systems. Respectively, we will continue to innovate and deliver best-in-class solutions to the market, while working together to advance the adoption of high-volume digitization initiatives.”
“The combination of Pramana’s SpectralHT solution with Corista’s DP3 digital workflow and image management system will enable pathology customers to reach research breakthroughs more efficiently, delivering patient-centric results faster than ever before,” said Prasanth Perugupalli, Chief Product Officer of Pramana. “Partnering with Corista expands support for DICOM image standards and promotes interoperability across whole slide image viewers and data access for algorithm developers and pathologists. This supports our mission to introduce Digital Pathology 2.0 – a new paradigm aimed to mitigate the complexities that labs and specialists face, making decisions related to scanners, image management software, and quality control tools, and future proofing their datasets.”
